Shakira, the renowned Colombian singer, was seen at a Miami airport leaving with her two sons amid reports of a potential eight-year prison sentence for tax fraud. Spanish authorities claim that Shakira pretended to be living abroad between 2012 and 2014 on tax documents when she was actually a resident of Spain. Shakira relocated to Barcelona in 2011 to be near her ex-partner, Spanish defender Gerard Pique, and they share two children together. Since their split earlier this year, rumors have surfaced in local media about Pique’s infidelity. Shakira has already repaid the $15.5 million she is accused of evading on Spanish taxes, as well as over $3 million in interest. She plans to leave Spain and eventually settle in Miami with her children, as she was recently seen arriving from Los Angeles after attending an LA Dodger’s game. A spokesman for Shakira stated that she has always cooperated with the law and followed the advice of prestigious tax firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.
