It was no surprise to see Jennifer Lopez work with the Ralph Lauren team for the 2023 Met Gala — the multihyphenate tapped the fashion house for her extravagant wedding gowns when she married Ben Affleck in Riceboro, GA, and the team was also behind her Western-inspired high-slit dress that made waves at the ball in 2021.
For this year’s afterparty, Lopez put her own signature spin on Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic suiting, selecting luxe, tailored pieces that delivered high octane glamour. Styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, the 53-year-old songstress balanced a velvet double-breasted blazer on her shoulders and finished the look with an elegant floor-length skirt.
She wore platforms by Christian Louboutin and elbow-length satin gloves. However, the real pièce de résistance was the white flutter sleeve blouse that worked as the foundation — a design she revealed from every angle on Instagram, where it became clear she went braless to show a flash of underboob.
Lopez also sported a stunning pair of daond drop earrings and a matching bracelet to complement the chainstrap on her Roger Vivier Viv’ velvet cube bag — an accessory that rings in just shy of $2,500. Lorenzo Martin kept her hair pinned up in a bun and Ash K Holm provided extra glow and a glossy nude lip, courtesy of Jlo Beauty products. Though her nails were hidden, it’s safe to say she kept on the same Chanel-inspired side-tip french manicure, created by Tom Bachick.
“The Mother” actress was one of the many celebrities at the Met Gala afterparty who decided on a fully black-and-white color palette. But leave it to Lopez to unveil sultrier details than meets the eye – at least once the evening wraps and behind-the-scenes pH๏tos are posted.
In the days following the Met, Lopez stayed in New York for press, showing off both an embellished leopard ensemble from Valentino and a sheer turquoise blouse from Del Core, which she layered over a visible corset and teamed with a leather pencil skirt of the same hue.
